Now that I'm no longer in the classroom, I unfortunately find myself at my desk more than I would like. Being that I am a Chrome lover, I discovered the extension, "Move It" as motivation to get out of my chair and move!
"Move It" is added onto the Chrome browser and can be set to trigger every 5 - 55 minutes. The screen will prompt you to do an activity (wall push ups, hop on one foot, arm circles, deep breaths, etc.). Once complete, click done to resume working.
I could see this as a "Brain Break" for students. If you establish some ground rules, I think it could be useful to students who get a little squirmy like me.
You can also disable the extension by clicking on the icon if you don't want it going off in the middle of a test or video. :-)
Next week is the last tech tip of the school year!
